Casper Wins Bid to Host NJCAA Volleyball National Championship
Division I Event to be Held in November of 2013, 2014 and 2015

Casper, WY – The Casper Area Convention & Visitors Bureau along with Casper College and the City of Casper are proud to announce that the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has selected Casper as its host of the 2013-2015 Division I Volleyball National Championships. The decision was made official on Saturday after the NJCAA Championship Events Committee made their recommendation to the Board of Directors.

“This is an incredible win for Casper and Natrona County,” said Aaron McCreight, CEO of the Casper Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. “It is an honor to be selected as the host of such a tremendous event. The NJCAA had to make some difficult decisions throughout the process and I am thrilled that Casper came out on top. We look forward, once again, to showcase the Casper area to competitors as well as their families and fans from around the country.”

The Division I Volleyball National Championship will feature all 16 NJCAA Regional champions over the three-day competition. The Championships will be held the week prior to the Thanksgiving holiday.

"Our legendary coach Swede Erickson served as an early president of the NJCAA. Banners recalling dozens of NJCAA regional championships hang in the gym that is named after Swede, including many that were earned on the volleyball court. It is fitting that the NJCAA selected Casper as the place where the best of the best will be crowned," said Casper College Public Relations Director Richard Fujita.

Casper was selected over the current host, Missouri State University - West Plains and a joint bid between North Idaho College in Coeur D’Alene, ID and the Spokane, WA Regional Sports Commission.
